Admission Process Latvia


Step 1: Provide Us Your Documents to Check


The admission process consists of 5 easy steps that make it fast and comfortable to complete. The dedicated office team of Edugain Overseas always aims to provide the best services for international students, so if you have any questions or struggle with any problems, you can always contact us via e-mail or phone.

Now read the information attentively and do not hesitate to ask us for assistance if it is required. If you have already chosen the faculty and the University — it is time to apply. All you need to do is to apply online by filling in the form on our website. You can also send us the following documents by email.

 Documents required by the University to check if the student is eligible to study: 

  • Passport (or any other ID document available)
  • School Certificate;
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree with transcripts (for PG/Ph.D. students).

After we review the documents mentioned above, we will let you know if you are accepted and start your Admission Process immediately. 

Step 2: Get the Admission Letter 


In order to get registered at the University and get an Admission Letter you have to cover the Application Fee in the amount of 200 EUR.  Send us the required documents: 

  • A document Confirming English Proficiency;
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (usually written by teachers, professors, employers, course instructors, etc.);
  • Curriculum Vitae in English;
  • Letter of Motivation 

If you apply early and submit all necessary application documents, you will get an early answer within 7-14 working days.  

Step 3: Cover Complete First-Year Fee 


The tuition fee and other payments shall be paid within two weeks after the registration date of the University offer of study place. Complete First Year Fee is mandatory to cover in order to get the Invitation Letter from the University to get your Student Visa faster and easier. 

Information about the payment deadline will be included in the offer of a study place and e-mail on the results of the competition. 

Step 4:  Obtain A Visa


Non-EU citizens must get a student visa at the nearest Latvian embassy/consulate. The required documents for a Latvian visa application are: 

  • Filled Latvian Visa Application Form;
  • Two passport-sized photos;
  •  International Passport;
  • Proof of sufficient financial resources (can be provided through bank statements);
  • Travel Medical Insurance;
  • Proof of accommodation;
  • Original Invitation Letter

 Step 5:  Arrival And Start Of Studying 


Remember to send us your flight information at least 5 working days before your arrival, so we can make all the arrangements for the successful arrival. Our representative will pick the student up from the airport and accompany them to the University and hostel and will assist with all the needed documentation processes.

* Please mind that there are slight differences in the admission process to each University, which will be discussed individually upon each student’s admission.
