West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin is a technical university in Szczecin, Poland. The university was established on January 1. 2009 in Szczecin, from the merger of the Agricultural University in Szczecin and the Szczecin University of Technology.
Today the university has 10 faculties with 47 directions, where 2300 employees work and about 15000 students study. The university teaches and conducts research in the fields of technical sciences, agriculture, economics, biology, chemistry and mathematics.

Szczecin is the capital city of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. In the vicinity of the Baltic Sea, it is the country’s 7th-largest city and a major seaport in Poland. Szczecin’s architectural style is due to trends popular in the last half of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th century, Academic art and Art Nouveau. The city has an abundance of green areas: parks and avenues – wide streets with trees planted in the island separating opposite traffic and roundabouts.
Students find that Szczecin is a lively city with the wide range of social, cultural and recreational facilities available in the region. By studying in Szczecin one gets the additional benefit of learning about a new culture. Szczecin can provide a broad spectrum of activities to do in your spare time. Activities range from golf, football and sport gyms to bowling, pool and pub crawling. The city has a wide cultural life with its own philharmonic orchestra, opera, art galleries, clubs etc.
The West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin makes every effort to accommodate students in its dormitories. Dormitories offer accommodation in double rooms. The typical accommodation arrangement is a “box”, i.e. 2 independent double rooms sharing 1 bathroom (there are 4 people in one box). There is internet access in each room. There is a kitchen on each floor shared by all floor inhabitants.
Recognizing the benefits resulting from international cooperation, the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin is an institution open to all kinds of projects enhancing internationalization processes and introducing an international dimension to its educational and research activities. A special invitation is open to foreign students willing to complete both full degrees and part time programmes during exchange periods (e.g. one or two semesters In the framework of Erasmus+ programme).
New fields are constantly created as the answer to changing economic conditions and needs of the labor market. Both universities contributed to a system offering students a wide range of academic education: undergraduate studies, postgraduate studies, one-cycle five-year Master’s degree studies, doctoral studies and a wide variety of post-diploma studies. The laboratories and study facilities of Szczecin University of Technology and the University of Agriculture in Szczecin were modernized in the last few years. This process has been continued at the newly created WPUT. International cooperation concerning teaching processes and scientific projects will still be one of the priorities of WPUT.
