The University traditions date back to 1944, when the first four Faculties were created at the recently established Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin: Medical, Life Sciences, Agricultural and Veterinary. Among the sequentially-formed faculties, in 1953 the Department of Animal Husbandry began its operations.
As a multi-profile University, it integrates agricultural, biological, veterinary, technical, economic and social sciences. The University employs 680 academic teachers in 7 faculties. For 65 years of operation the University promoted: 75 000 graduates, 2000 doctors and 700 habilitated doctors.

Lublin is the capital of the Lublin Region and the biggest town in Eastern Poland. Lublin’s Old Town is full of charm with its cobbled narrow streets and traditional style architecture and Renaissance burgher houses. Everything here is seeping with history and character. In fact, this area is sometimes referred to as “Little Krakow”. There are more than 100 historic mansions and other buildings to marvel at. For a different perspective, you can try the underground tourist trail, which visits old wine cellars and shop basements from various points in the city’s history to give you a more intimate look at the past and present ways of life in Lublin.
Dormitories of the university are located in two districts of Lublin near the city center. Student dormitories on the University Campus offer a wide range of rooms and a common TV room, study room, gym and canteen. The Sports and Health Center with swimming pool and gyms are located in the vicinity of the main campus.
Research, which is conducted by scientific institutions at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin in the laboratories, clinics, experimental and private farms represents a valuable contribution to the development of agricultural and veterinary sciences. Numerous publications in reputable national and international scientific journals reflect the value of scientific achievements. Expanded cooperation with the business sector (manufacturing plants, meat processing plants, sugar refineries, breweries, etc.) results in a large number of reported and obtained patents, utility models and implementations.
