The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga is a business school that was founded in 1994 by the Stockholm School of Economics with the support of the Swedish government, and the Latvian Ministry of Education on behalf of Latvia. Together with the Stockholm School of Economics, it has been consistently ranked as the top business school in Latvia and among the best ones in Europe.
SSE Riga employs a variety of teaching methods, including group work, summer internships, and case studies, and has exchange programs with many leading universities and business schools in Europe. SSE Riga has grown today into an internationally recognized business school with more than 2,500 alumni worldwide.
Every year 130 students are enrolled in the Bachelor’s program and 20-30 students are admitted to the Master’s program. Graduates of SSE Riga are highly-skilled and highly qualified professionals which are competitive in Europe and around the world. The majority of the teaching staff are English-speaking professors. All courses are taught in English medium of instruction.
The Stockholm School of Economics maintains contacts and collaboration agreements with prominent educational institutions and organizations in Europe and Asia. Each semester exchange students and members of academic staff are invited to the SSE Riga development programs, and each autumn third-year SSE Riga students leave for exchange for one semester.
SSE is a member of the two prominent networks PIM (Partnership in International Management) and CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education) and also participates in the Erasmus+ program.
SSE has about 80 partner universities and each academic year, we send over 200 students abroad on exchange and host over 180 exchange students from all over the world. The exchange places at SSE are reserved only for students nominated by SSE’s partner universities (free movers are not accepted at SSE).
Some of the exchange partners of the school include Sciences Po Paris, WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, Technical University of Munich, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Warsaw School of Economics, Norwegian School of Economics, Vilnius University, Utrecht University, and many others.
