Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (TSAA)-the higher art educational university, is the oldest and largest art academy in the Caucasus. Each year more than 1300 students are enrolled in BA, MA, and Ph.D. programs.
The TSAA prepares students to become self-aware artists who make meaningful contributions to society with their innovative passion, experimental attitude, and profundity.
The TSAA offers and conducts the programs, where the starting point is close cooperation between practice and art theory at all levels of education. Academic teaching includes theoretical-practical research activities, related to the specialties of fine and visual arts, architecture, art history, and restoration, design, audio-visual representation, and digital media.
The Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, founded in 1922, is the oldest and largest art academy in the Caucasus is interesting and attractive not only with its historical background but with its modern age by preserving traditional knowledge and approach to teaching the arts, as well as, creation of the new teaching programs at various levels, with new methodologies and modern teaching principles, one of the best examples of which is the relatively newly established Faculty of the Media Arts with its contemporary directions.
The admission rate range is 90-100% making this Georgian higher education organization a least selective institution. TSSA also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
All educational programs at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts are conducted in the Georgian language. For applicants with a foreign upper-secondary school education that lacks qualifications in Georgian a language test is required.
Students usually live in a dormitory, which is the nearest to their Institute. Each dormitory has an internet connection and recreation hall; many dormitories have gyms and other sports facilities.
There are 2 or 3 students in a room and bathrooms and kitchens on each floor. Tbilisi has a well-developed public transport system, so you can get anywhere you want from each dormitory building. Every room is equipped with modern furniture such as beds, tables, wardrobes, chairs, bedding that changed twice a month, and freely accessible Wi-Fi.
