Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University is the pediatrics education institution of higher education in Saint Petersburg (formerly known as Leningrad) city of the Russian Federation. Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University is considered to be the oldest pediatric education institution in the Russian Federation as well as in the world. Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University was formed in 1925 as the Institute of Maternity and Infancy in Leningrad city’s pediatrics hospital complex. In 1935 Institute of Maternity and Infancy was converted into Leningrad Pediatric Medical Institute. In 1994 the institute received the status of the Academy and on April 27, 2012, the academy received university status and became Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University. Currently, Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University has 3 700 students who are being trained in 66 departments under the staff of 810 skilled teachers. There are 29 000 students who graduated from Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University.

Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University owns a number of hostels for the use of its students who wish to live on or near the grounds and facilities of the university. The capacity of the six combined hostels amounts to around 3 050, with Hostel No. 6 being the largest and catering for the greatest number of students.
Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University provides housing for foreigners. The hostel is located in the city center, in an area with good infrastructure.
